I have enjoyed that every day is different and brings new challenges and excitement. You have the ability to work in different areas on any given day, and sometimes multiple areas per day.
I have learnt so much about communication in this role, working alongside different prisoners who have different personalities means that you need to adjust your skills, take the time to hear someone out and really use communication as a tool to be effective. It can be the difference between an incident and a resolution.
I would encourage anyone who is considering applying to go for it!
